Joe Haines, Environmental Officer
Joe
Haines is the Enforcement Officer for the Bridgeport Hydraulic
Company and the Environmental Officer for the Town of Easton. He
is a legend in Easton as a man of outdoor skills. Joe, known as “The
Indian” for his tracking expertise, describes to Dolly, while
wild turkeys are in the background, his philosophy of living with
the outdoors and enjoying it. A newly published book, “Joe
and me”, written and illustrated by James Prosek, also of
Easton, is presented to the audience. The book tells the stories
of the hunting and fishing adventures of Joe Haines and James Prosek.
CBS Television spent 2 1/2 days filming James and Joe in Easton for a CBS program. Easton
can be proud of both of its national treasures.
